These snowballs were part of a gift from a departing student. They were damn good! A delicious substitute to the snowballs I missed this past Christmas. They were so good, that I'm going to have to find the shop where they were purchased, and get some more. Needless to say, they did not compare with my Mom's snowballs, which will always be at the top of the snowball heap.@Kath: If you see these in a cake or cookie shop, buy them.

They look pretty! Are they shortbreads like traditional snowballs here? Are they big or tiny?

I've tried these "Japanese snowballs" before. I remember that they tasted good, but had a drier texture and fell apart easily when you bit into them. I agree with Sean -- they don't beat mom's!!!
