Here's another song from the same CD on which I first heard "Can you celebrate?" This is a fun, upbeat song, reminiscent of a bygone era. I can't really say which era, as I'm a tad too young. Take a listen:
This is quite fun to sing at karaoke. Look at that emotion!
I wonder which bygone era? This was a fun video to WATCH especially...I realized that he made me think of Kenta at karaoke..Kenta also takes his karaoke singing this seriously dont ya think? That's why I love watching him when he sings...he even stands up to sing at times so there is also this similar body movement...remember when he sang "Sakura,Sakura"...very much like this guy in the vid, in terms of movement...and definitely emotion...come on Sean.. I want to see you add more Japanese emotion to your karaoke songs yo : )
well since I was only born in 1947 , i wouldnt have been aware of this..but I do recall my parents gen listening to say Doris Day and Hank Snow.Is Billy Joel part of that gen ya think? : ) BTW were you really serious when you wrote:is that the 50s?

I will try my best! I thought of Kenta too.
The era is the same era which Billy Joel's "Uptown Girl" makes me think of. Is that the 50s?

Yes. Billy Joel's song "Uptown Girl" is set in the 50s I think. This song has a similar feel to it.
