Can you celebrate? (Amuro Namie)

I heard a song in the supermarket today which was a remix of an old Supremes song, sung by Amuro Namie. The song, called New Look I think, was interesting and catchy, and when I got home I searched YouTube and found a short video of it.

I much prefer her older style and voice though. We played her song "Can you celebrate?" at our wedding two years ago. Here is a touching and teary live performance of the song:

Very nice, but I need to know the words, I guess. She is quite blond for a Japanese, ne? (I still like Sakura, Sakura).

The one I'm referring to is the one where she has blondish hair. Plus she cries 3/4s of the way through.

The song is about meeting your one true love I think. I haven't searched for the lyrics yet, but I'm sure you could find them on Google.

That's interesting... I actually never really liked that song ("Can you celebrate?"), but much prefer the newer, cooler, hip hoppin' Namie! I used to (try and) sing a couple of her fasrte songs at karaoke -- great to dance to! :)

I like some of her new stuff, but it seems like she's just another hip-hop singer. Not much feeling, no vocal range, ...

I liked her new song (New Look) for about 30 seconds, and then it wore off. I like her other hip-hop songs for the wrong reasons I think. Sexy voice, nice beat, ...
