Lindberg: Ima sugu kiss me (今すぐ Kiss me)

Here's another one from the Japanese 90s music CD. This is fun, poppy, song, and this is the first time I've seen the singer. Cute, and a bit boyish, but makes me think Cyndi Lauper a bit.

Enjoy! たのしんで!

Is she a rezubian? Hee.

She might have been. But she married a male band member in 2002.

I have a gay nephew who once married a "rezubian"...

Lots and lots of energy in that cute band..especially the singer...she reminds me of a little boy in her movements and facial expressions..and in the kiddie like fun she is having.
Hmmm..not really Cindy Lauper except for maybe that gaiety ..not the voice tho...fun to watch them but my test is that I turn away and listen for awhile. If I no longer like the music or the voice, that means the enjoyment comes from watching, while just listening is a bit on the irritating side, ya se what I mean ?

These songs permeated my brain after many playings in our car in Yonago. I don't think they can be appreciated in any sense in 3 minutes.

so honestly, you with your musical background and ear for good music truly likes this cute gal's voice and song? or is it just nostalgia? like Tim Hortons coffee is nostalgia but not very good coffee : )

Much of the music I like to listen to isn't all that good. It's all about enjoyment and entertainment. I mean, we don't all read Shakespeare all the time, or look at Monet, right? We read historical fantasy fiction and look at the Sunday funnies.
My like of this song is purely a case of self-hypnosis and brainwashing. I'm sure if I listened to your type of music enough, I'd like it too! ;)

But we do love the same types of "good" music...anyway, you seem to have more of a need for and tolerance of this kind of entertainment. No doubt, you like those weird Japanese game shows and American reality TV too heeheehahahahahahahheheheeehaahaha!!!

I don't think I have a need for this type of entertainment. But it's true that repeated exposure to something either makes you hate it or love it. If it was initially your choice then I think generally you will end up liking it. Although, if it was someone else's choice, then I think the reverse occurs. This is why I generally dislike my sister's and my parents' new music choices.

(I definitely object to your suggestion that I like American reality TV. Between the two of us, I think I know who has watched more of it.)

if you are suggesting I watch Reality TV, well I don't..the TV is never on except for CBC news and dramas I like which are all over now, as well as on for rented movies PLUS HAPPILY we dont have cable....
Hmmmm...Mr defensive like crazy san..did not you notice all my laughter hahas?
Curious..what would be an example of my "new" music choice?

Sean O'Hagan said...

Didn't you used to watch American Idol? (note that I wrote "has watched")

I didn't not notice all your laughter hahas.

Your most recent new music choice was that blond female singer with the odd voice.

I'm not being sensitive. I'm not, not, not!! ;)

actually, i dont know much about that blond Welsh singer..I heard her on Brantford Radio and the announcer kept saying:" dont ya just love her"..so I thought maybe I did, or maybe i should. She is kinda neat tho...and then there's Amy Winehouse..I like her...

AS for the Idol shows, I used to sometimes catch them at the last 5 or 10 finalists. But that's about music and the idea of it is good, in theory. Kelly Clarkson was an Idol winner !

PS don't know if this helps or hinders the discussion tbat's going on, but I loved this song the moment I heard it! But then I am a complete sucker for poppy happy songs and for Japanese pop (Pizzicato 5 and Shonen Knife etc) so this song was bound to push my music buttons ;) Cheers very much for posting ^^
